The Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center, sponsored by Trustco, is the gateway to the Albany Pine Bush Preserve, providing visitors with interactive exhibits and activities. You are invited to explore the preserve's geologic and cultural significance, examine the plants and animals that live in this landscape, study preserve management principles, and consider human impacts on this sensitive landscape.
The Gift Shop in the Discovery Center will be closed on March 27th for physical inventory. The Discovery Center exhibits and most trails remain open during this time.

Invasive Tree Removal: Preserve Area Closure
Starting in early March 2024, 18 acres of invasive and non-native black locust trees will be removed from a site located west of New Karner Road and just south of Pinehurst Blvd. The tree removal is the first step in restoring this site back to the pine barrens it once was. After tree removal the site will be planted with native pine barrens plants. During this time this area is temporarily CLOSED to all public use.
If you have any questions or concerns about this management work, please contact Stewardship Director, Joel Hecht at 518-456-0655 or jhecht@albanypinebush.org
