What lives in a pond? Join us for an exploration and observation of the many creatures that make their home in a pond. Pond sampling materials will be provided. Please wear long pants and appropriate footwear for mud and water. We will meet at the Six Mile Waterworks Trailhead (trailhead #3) at the wooden and metal kiosk.

Trailhead #3 Six Mile Waterworks
Directions from Discovery Center to Rensselaer Lake (Six-Mile Waterworks) on Fuller Road (Trailhead 3). At traffic light in front of Discovery Center building, turn left onto Route 155. Proceed 0.5 miles to the next traffic light. Turn left onto Washington Avenue Extension. Proceed on Washington Ave. Extension for 2.3 miles to the Fuller Road exit. Take the ramp. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto Fuller Road. Travel approximately 0.1 miles to a second traffic circle. Rensselaer Lake Preserve and Park Entrance (Six-Mile Park) is the 3rd exit off the traffic circle.
