Suitable for Tweens and Teens

Calling all middle and high school students who are passionate about science! Please join us for our first virtual Teen Science Café event of the semester featuring Dr. Raquel Velho, Assistant Professor of Science and Technology Studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic University. Professor Velho is a sociologist of technology who will be speaking on the topic of infrastructures, accessibility, and disability, as well as the career path that led her to her current position at RPI. Dr. Velho’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A session moderated by Teen Leaders, students from Capital Region high schools who work together to plan and host Teen Science Café events.

Teen Science Café is a national network of institutions providing free, out-of-school programs featuring local scientists and STEM professionals sharing their work with a teen audience. Uniquely, Teen Science Café is by teens, for teens - a core group of Teen Leaders works together with an adult supervisor at the host institution to plan science engagement events for their peers.
