Discovery Center Volunteer Gardening Opportunity

Volunteer to help up us maintain the Discovery Center grounds. Work will include jobs like weeding, trimming and litter clean-up. This opportunity is open to members of the public ages 12 and older. Those under 18 must be accompanied by at least one adult. All volunteers will be required to sign a liability form. If you plan to volunteer with us for more than one day you will need to fill out additional paperwork. Registration is recquired and closes 48 hours before the program. Masks must be worn by program participants over the age of 2 years old who are unvaccinated for COVID-19.

Please remember to dress for the weather and the presence of ticks. Wear sturdy shoes, pants with long socks that can be pulled up over your pant legs and shirts that are tucked into the waistband and bring drinking water. We will provide all necessary equipment. If you have a favorite pair of gardening gloves you are welcome to bring them but it is not required.

We will meet outside in front of the Discovery Center main entrance.

In the event that we need to cancel do to inclement weather we will notify all registered participants.

From I-87 take exit 2W (Rt 5 West, Central Avenue). Follow Rt 5 for about 2 miles then turn left onto Rt 155 (New Karner Rd). Continue on Rt 155 for about 1.2 miles. The Discovery Center is located on the left at 195 New Karner Road. (518)456-0655
